During Boao Forum Session 38 on March 29th “The Art of Beauty: Talking to Cultural Masters”, David GREEN (Chairman, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts) commented that advancements in information technology and communication technology reduce cultural diversity. He said that youngsters nowadays spend a lot of time on smartphones and tablets, which poses danger towards reduction of the diversity people have, and would result in homogenous identity among younger generation.
David mentioned a possible solution to this is to incentivize the youngsters to be educated in art. He said that the government of United Kingdom have sponsored the museums to be free of charge to the visitors, and have seen a significant increase in the number of entrants of the museum.
