During the Boao Forum 2015 Roundtable 6: “BFA Cross-Straits Business Roundtable Innovate and Benefit All: A New Future of Cross-Straits Economic Cooperation” on 29 March, Lee Jih-Chu (Chairwoman, Bank of Taiwan) commented that some people perceived a negative impression that cross-Straits exchanges were a matter of mere formality, or even that exchanges were to be bene-fit certain political parties or enterprises. Therefore, Lee proposed that, in order to let the public, especially the young, feel better and have more opportunities, the Chinese service and consumer industry, which is directly related to the living of the general public, could be more open to invest-ments and free participation. In addition, cross-Straits cooperation had to create more benefits from SMEs by, for example, deepening SMEs’ know-how in exporting their products and online selling channels.
