At the TV Debate Session Four on March 29th – Connecting Asia: Dialogue with Thinkers, Martin Jacques (Senior fellow, department of politics and international studies, Cambridge university) believed that over the past one and a half years, the British government has changed its policies towards Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). It has chosen to join AIIB despite the disagreement of US.

Martin believed that UK’s joining AIIB would bring great economic opportunities to Asia and Europe, and would help pound pegged to RMB.
