At dialogue 1 "A Conversation with Justin LIN Yifu: the China Miracle" on March 27th, LIN Yifu, Professor and Honorary Dean of the National School of Development in Peking University  and Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, reiterated that China still had the potential to regain 8% growth.

Professor LIN explained that measured by PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), China’s GDP per Capita in 2008 was only 21% of that of the US. According to what had happened in Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan during the period of comparable PPP, China should expect another 20 years of 8% growth.
