At the 2015 Asian Economy Forward-looking Indicator Release on March 27th during the BOAO Forum for Asia, Zhang Yansheng, Secretary General of Academic Committee, NDRC, commented that export-oriented economy is a model for small countries, while open economy places emphasis on import rather than export, on modern agriculture and service industry instead of industrial production. Asia might find its next opportunity to transform itself from an export-oriented economy to open economy. He stressed that the period from 2015 to 2016 will be the crucial era for China to reform its economic structure and for Chinese corporations to transform. He talked of three mechanisms that will boost the economy of Asia’s: One Belt and One Road project, Free Trade Zones and Sino-US Investment Agreement.
