At the session on “Agriculture, Rural Areas and Farmers in the Fast-Urbanizing Country” during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015, LIU Yonghao, Chairman of New Hope Group, suggested that to ensure China’s food security, the solution should be in two folds. On the one hand, China should firmly secure the production of most important food provisions such as rice and wheat; on the other, it should also open the market for other agricultural products such as corn and soybean and allow the market to be the natural mediator.
