Chief Justice and President, Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China

ZHOU Qiang, born in Hubei Province in April 1960, graduated from Southwest University of Political Science & Law, Bachelor and Master of Law, is currently a member of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, President of the Supreme People’s Court.From 1985 to 1995, he worked in the Ministry of Justice as an official of the Research Department; Deputy Division Director, Division Director of the Department of Legislative Affairs; Deputy Director-General of the General Office; Director of the Minister’s Office; Director-General of the Department of Legislative Affair; From 1995 to 2006, he was appointed Secretary, Executive Secretary, First Secretary of Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League (“CCYL”); From 2006 to 2013, he was appointed Vice-Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Acting Governor; Governor of Hunan Province; Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Chairman of Standing Committee of Hunan People’s Congress. In March 2013, he was elected President of the Supreme People’s Court at the 12th National People’s Congress.
