Prof. Wang Hao, who is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, currently is Honorary Director of Department of Water Resources and Director of State Key Laboratory of Simulation and Regulation of Water Cycle in River Basin, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR). Prof. Wang has been engaged in research on hydrology and water resources for many years. He built the system of theory and methodology on dual water cycle that takes account of both natural factors and social factors. The system of theory and methodology has been successfully applied to national and local water resources planning, the South-to-North Water Transfer Project planning and operation, the three gorges reservoir and upstream cascade reservoir group operation and other major planning and project. Up to now, Prof. Wang has published over30 monographs and over 300 academic papers. He also won the National Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement of Science & Technology 6 times and provincial award over 20 times. At the time of carrying out scientific research, Prof. Wang has cultivated over 150 postgraduate students.
