Venerable Master Yin Shun
Venerable Master Yin Shun, PhD in Buddhist Studies, was born in 1974 in Hubei Province. In 2000, he became the Dharma successor of Venerable Master Benhuan, one of the most influential and respectable elder monk in China. Master Yin Shun now serves on the following positions: Vice Chairman of the Buddhist Association of China; Chairman of the Buddhist Association of Hainan Province; Standing Committee Member of Guangdong People’s Political Consultative Council (PPCC);Standing Committee Member of Hainan Province PPCC; Standing Committee Member of Shenzhen PPCC; Chairman of the Buddhist Association of Shenzhen; Abbot of Hongfa Temple in Shenzhen; Abbot of Nanshan Temple in Hainan Province; Abbot of Zhong Hua Temple in Nepal; etc. Master Yinshun is very concerned about his country. He advocated “the South China Sea Strategy” in recent years, and always called for respecting the diversity between Mahayana Buddhism and Theravadin Buddhism and advocated dialogue, exchanges and cooperation among China and other Buddhist regions and countries. He built firm friendship with many Buddhism leaders of Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia, etc. He also did many charitable works in southern Asian countries, and helped a lot of local people. All these things what he did were considered as practices of Buddhist way of OBOR(One Belt and One Road). Because of his outstanding contributions, Master Yin Shun was awarded the title of “Leader of Chinese Monk” by the king of Thailand. Master Yin Shun attaches great importance to the education and promotion of Buddhism. He is a deligent writer and an excellent speaker. Some books he wrote and speeches he gave on TV and forums had extensive and deep influence.
