Vice Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia;Vice Chairman of The 12th National Committee of the Chinese;People’s Political Consultative Conference Former Governor of the People’s Bank of China

Dr. Zhou Xiaochuan was born in 1948. Mr. Zhou graduated from Beijing Chemical Engineering Institute in 1975 and obtained his Ph.D. from the Tsinghua University in 1986. In March 2013, he was elected Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and his tenure as the Governor of the People’s Bank of China, Chairman of Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) was extended. Since 2018, he has been committed as the Vice Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia. In 2013, he served as the Vice Chairman, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). In 2003, he served as the Chairman, Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China. In 2002, he was appointed as the Governor of People's Bank of China (PBC). In 2000, he was appointed as the Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission. In 1998, he served as the President of China Construction Bank. During 1996 to 1998   he was the Deputy Governor of PBC and Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. In 1995, he was the Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. From 1991 to 1995, he served as the Vice President of Bank of China. During 1986 to1989, he was the Assistant Minister of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. From 1986 to1991, he was the Member of the State Economic System Restructuring Committee.
