Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering Director of Boao Super Hospital

Lanjuan Li is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of  Boao Super Hospital and Professor from Zhejiang University. She serves as the director of the State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment, Collaborative Innovation Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, the founder of Shulan Health, director of the Biology and Medicine Division of the Ministry of Education, vice director of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and chair of the 4th International Human Microbiome Consortium. The main research interests of Prof. Li are focused on: diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, liver failure and artificial liver, infectious microecology and intelligent medical. She has been engaged in clinical, teaching and research work of infectious diseases for about 40 years and served as editor-in-chief for 36 books, publishing more than 400 high-level international peer-reviewed articles (including Nature, Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine,etc.). Prof. Li is noted for her pioneering work on the development of artificial liver and she develops a theory on infectious microecology. Her group made comprehensive breakthroughs in the molecular structure and origin of viruses, fast detection, virus culturing, vaccine development, clinical therapy, etc., thereby playing a crucial role in effectively curbing the dissemination of H7N9. Prof. LI undertakes over 20 projects sponsored by the 863 Program, the 973 Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She publishes more than 400 papers, including Nature, Lancet and NEJM. She has won special prize, innovative team prize, twice First Prize and Second Prize of the National Science & Technology Progress Awards and the Holeung Ho Lee Advancement Prize, etc.
