Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations

Marie Chatardová is currently the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations. She was born on March 6, 1963 (Znojmo City). She has served as an ambassador, a member of the Commercial Bar Association and a JD from the School of Law at Masaryk University. In 2016, she took as the commander of the French Legion of Honor. Since 2016, she has served as the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations. Since 2019, she has served as Vice-Chairman of the UNICEF Bureau, co-chair of the Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals; and co-chairs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. From 2017 to 2018, she served as the Chairman of the UN Economic and Social Council. From 2010 to 2016, she served as Ambassador of the Czech Republic to France; From 2013 to 2016, she served as Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to UNESCO, from 2013 to 2015, as Chairman of the UNESCO Committee on Conventions and Recommendations), Czech Republic The Permanent Representative of the Republic to the International Organization of French-speaking Countries and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Monaco. From 2007 to 2010, she served as Director of the Diplomatic Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. From 2002 to 2007, she served as Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Sweden. From 2000 to 2002, she served as Director of the Communications Strategy Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. From 1999 to 2000, she served as the head of the EU Relations Coordination Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. From 1995 to 1999, she served as the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the European Union. Her main responsibilities: to strengthen the EU's judicial and internal affairs. From 1994 to 1995, she served as the Division of Analysis and Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. From 1990 to 1994, she worked as a lawyer in Prague, mainly in business law. From 1985 to 1990, she served as an employee of the Prague Trademark Office. She got ranked fourth in Forbes's most influential Czech women in 2017/2018.
