Dr. Li Pengde is Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice President of China Geological Survey (CGS) and Co-Chair of United National Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM). As the UN-GGIM Co-Chair, he has been committed to strengthening regional and global cooperation on geospatial information, including the organization of the First UN World Geospatial Information Congress in Deqing, China in November 2018. Dr. Li Pengde currently serves as Vice President of China Geological Survey and Member of the Standing Committee of 13th Session of CPPCC National Committee. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems and PhD in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. He has worked at various technical and management positions in the provincial and national surveying, mapping and geo-information agencies. He has been actively participating in various international cooperation programs in global earth observation and geospatial information management in Asia-Pacific region.
