Xuemin Liu is the professor of Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University. He is also the Ph.D. supervisor and director of Resource Economy and Policy Research Center of Beijing Normal University. Born in Xiangfen, Shanxi Province, Professor. Liu received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in economics from Lanzhou University, and his PhD in economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Meanwhile, he also served as the member of the CNSC Expert Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the head of the Southwest Regional Group, and the chief expert of the Ministry of Education on Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project. Professor Liu is also the joint Ph.D. supervisor of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the director of the Chinese Society for Sustainable Development, the vice-president of the Beijing Urban Economics Association, and the consultant of many local governments.
