Mr. Chen Shengqiang joined JD.com in April 2007 and served as the CFO. He has made outstanding achievements in the company's financial management structure, optimizing its management integration and boosting its investment and financing platforms. Chen introduced JD.COM's new business analysis system which has aided the company’s operations, and has made outstanding contributions in guiding the fast-paced development of JD.COM.Since September 2013, Chen has been serving as the CEO of the JD Digits, formally known as JD Finance, where he is responsible for the company‘s strategy and business development. He leads the company in the digital finance field as it creates a B2B2C financial technology service model. Chen has overseen rapid business growth and stronger cooperation within JD.COM, helping maximize the company’s value. In July 2018, JD Finance announced the Series B fundraising round at a post-money valuation of 133 billion yuan.

In addition to its strength in fintech, Chen has also led the company into new field of digital industry services, using digital technology to connect financial services with the real economy, which boosts the development of real economy into an age of internet, digitalization, and intelligence, to bring more value to the society. In November 2018, the company unveiled its brand upgrading as JD Digits, with the company focusing on a host of fields, from finance, urban computing, campus services to agriculture and husbandry, and digital marketing.
