Father of Modern Cryptography ,Chief Scientist of Cryptic Labs, Winner of 2015 Turning Awards

Prof. Whitfield Diffie is currently the Chief Scientist of Cryptic Labs, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a Foreign Fellow of the Royal Society. He is known as the Father of Modern Cryptography and the Founder of World Cybersecurity. As a world-renowned expert in cryptography and cybersecurity, he won the Turing Award in 2015 for the invention of the first key exchange system with his partners known as Diffie–Hellman key exchange (DH), which became the foundation of securing most of what we do digitally today. Diffie received Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from MIT in 1965. In 1969, Diffie became a research programmer at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, where he cultivated interests in cryptography and computer security under the aegis of John McCarthy. In 1991, Diffie started an 18-year career in Sun Microsystems where he became the Chief Security Officer. In 2018, Diffie joined Zhejiang University as the Honorary Director of Institute of Cyberspace Research and Expert at Zhejiang Lab.
