Dr. LI Chao was born in December 1965, Han nationality from Jiaozuo, Henan Province. Dr. LI Chao holds a PhD in Management Science. Dr. LI Chao currently is a Vice Chairman and member of the CPC Leadership of CSRC.Dr.LI Chao started his career in July, 1987 at China Construction Bank where he served as Director of the Cadre Administration Division of the Human Resources Department and Deputy Director-general of the General Office. Thereafter he joined the China Securities Regulatory Commission as Deputy Director-general of the General Office in June,2000. In January 2003, he was appointed Deputy Director-general and then Director-general of the General Administration Department at the People’s Bank of China in October 2004. In December 2008, he was appointed Deputy Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and member of the CPC Leadership of the SAFE. Beginning September 2011, he served concurrently as President and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Operations Office of the People’s Bank of China and President of the Beijing Operations Office of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. In September, 2015. Dr. Li was appointed as the Vice Chairman and member of the CPC Leadership of CSRC.
