President Pacific-China Friendship Association
Mr. Hiria Ottino, followed a double degree in Anthropology and Chinese medicine in France, Tahiti and China, where he lived for more than 15 years. After working for several years in the Strategy and Policy Division of the United Nations World Food Program (2001), he set up the first cooperation agreements between China and French Polynesia (2003), was appointed Representative of French Polynesia to China (2004), President of the Tahiti Tourism Board (2013), served as Delegate for International, European and Pacific Affairs in Charge of Internal Investments (2015), and acted as advisor to the President of French Polynesia (to this date) on strategic partnership with AVIC, CAAC, CCECC, CCTV, China Development Bank, China Railway, CPAFFC, Forebase, HNA, Huawei, OCT, People’s Daily, Phoenix Television, Shunfeng, Suntech, TianRui, etc. In 2010, with the support of the President of the Assembly of French Polynesia, the team built a Polynesian outrigger sailing canoe and sailed from Tahiti to China in 123 days. The canoe traced in reverse direction the migration settlement of the first Polynesians: Tahiti, Cook, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Philippines and China, where they are welcomed in the best conditions. In 2014, for the 60th anniversary of the Public Diplomacy of the People's Republic of China organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), he is one of nine people to be cited to represent the friendly exchanges of the sixty years of Chinese public diplomacy. In 2016, he is elected President of the Pacific China Friendship Association (PCFA), a regional organization that brings together friendship organizations between south pacific countries/regions with China. PCFA now regroups 16 countries/regions and has signed strategic cooperation agreements with several institutions and companies. He is the author of important contributions on Chinese medicine and philosophical thought. He has also translated several acupuncture books and directed the first compendiums of Chinese political and administrative, and Chinese listed companies .
