Hitoshi Suzuki is a Member of the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan (present term of office is from July 24, 2017 to July 23, 2022). He joined The Mitsubishi Bank Ltd. in 1977 and developed a career in banking. He held positions such as General Manager, Treasury Planning Office, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd., from May 2002, and Executive Officer and General Manager, Global Markets Planning Division, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU), from January 2006. He was appointed Deputy President at BTMU in 2012 and served as Advisor at BTMU before joining the Bank of Japan. Mr. Suzuki graduated from Keio University with a B.A. in Economics and has an MBA degree from New York University.
