James Wang (Wang Zhonglei), Co-founder, Vice Chairman and CEO of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, was born in 1970 and graduated from Beijing Youth Politics College. He established the company with his brother Dennis Wang (Wang Zhongjun) in 1994. From 1998, Mr. Wang started leading the film business of the company. Under his management, Huayi Brothers has produced hundreds of widely-known blockbusters, including many Chinese top-grossing movies. The total box office has surpassed 20 billion RMB. Huayi Brothers is always recognized as the Number One brand in Chinese film industry. Mr. Wang is widely honored as the Golden Movie Producer in China. In 2016, Mr. Wang was appointed as Vice Chairman and CEO of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation to oversee group operation and promote synergetic development of business units. Mr. Wang has won many industry accolades, including the Distinguished Contribution to the Entertainment Industry Award in 2008, Core Leader of Creative Industries Award in 2008, EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010, a placement on the Top 10 List of Marketing Professionals in China in 2013, the Best Influencer Award in 2015, the Best Movie Producer Award, the Most Respected Film People Award in 2016, the Leadership of the Industry Award by U.S.-China Film Summit, the Best Influencer in Radio, 500 Most Influential Business Leaders Shaping the Global Entertainment Industry in 2018 by Variety and one of the Top 10 Chinese Power Players in 2017 by Hollywood Report.
