Ernesto Zedillo was the Former President of Mexico who led profound democratic and social reforms; economist and advocate of multilateralism, inclusive globalization, nuclear non-proliferation and drug policy reform. He took office as the President of Mexico from 1994 to 2000; was the Recipient of the Franklin D Roosevelt Freedom from Fear Award in 2002; as the Chairman of the Global Development Network from 2005 to 2011. He was occupied as the Commissioner on the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament in 2009 and the Director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization. “Inclusive globalization is needed not only by the weak but also by the strong; not only to defeat economic polarization but also to alleviate old and new resentments that threaten the security of our world.”
