●Description: | Technological innovations are usually aimed at improving the efficiencies in our work and life, while at the same time disrupting how we live every day. Just a decade ago, the boundaries between work, social life, learning and information acquisition were still clearly visible. In today’s world, however, the segmentation of time is ever blurring, as content is increasingly available, customized fragmented information is being pushed through social media, and work and private life are becoming integrated on the WeChat social platform. It seems that the higher efficiencies that technologies bring, the less time we have to devote to highly efficient work, focused and systematic learning, or quality uninterrupted communications with our beloved ones. While time management and prioritization might seem a somewhat cliché topic, how we can develop better perceptions of the scales of time to plan for our daily living in an era of rapid iteration of technologies may be one of the most important challenges facing the younger generations around the world. While technologies are making time more fragmented and shattering the boundaries between work and life, how can we manage our limited time better? Are there any effective tools for time management? Facing multiple-task scenarios of work and learning, what are the differences between men and women in their management of time? Will the changes in our perceptions of time impact our life decisions, or even the education of our children? How is the fragmentation of scenarios adversely affecting social development?
