Chief Executive Officer, Yum China
Joey Wat is Chief Executive Officer of Yum China Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: YUMC). Yum China separated from Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) and became an independently listed company on the New York Stock Exchange on November 1, 2016. With exclusive rights to the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands in China, and ownership of Little Sheep and East Dawning brands, Yum China is the largest independent restaurant company in the country. Ms. Wat served as the President and COO of Yum China from February 2017 to February 2018 and as CEO, KFC China from August 2015 (operating under YUM China Division, a division of Yum! Brands, Inc., at the time) to February 2017. Before joining YUM China Division in September 2014, Ms. Wat served in both management and strategy positions at AS Watson of Hutchison Group, and worked for management consulting firms including with McKinsey & Company in Hong Kong. Ms. Wat holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor degree from Hong Kong University. She was named one of Fortune Magazine Chinese Edition’s Top 25 China Most Powerful Women in Business in 2017.
