Ram Parameswaran is a partner at Altimeter Capital, a $3b hedge fund based in San Francisco Bay Area and Boston. Ram is the sector head for Internet and fintech at Altimeter Capital and is responsible for leading public and private company investments in the US, China and in India. Current investments for Ram include Jinri Toutiao, Alibaba, Tencent, Uber, Facebook and Google, along with several private companies in India. Ram strongly believes that the "silicon triangle" formed between San Francisco, Beijing and Bangalore will be where the biggest companies in our lifetimes will be created and believe that there are huge synergies and learnings that can be adopted between these three regions for tech entrepreneurs and investors. Prior to Altimeter, Ram led technology investments at Falcon Edge Capital in New York City, and was an engineer and product manager at Qualcomm Inc. before that. Ram has a MBA from the University of Chicago and a master's in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Ram and his wife, Anu, who is a general partner at Ycombinator, have lived and worked in 12 countries in Europe, Africa, Latin America, South East Asia and in India - and this influences their global view of the world.
