Mr. Leong Vai Tac has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics by the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is a member of the Council for the Election of the Deputies of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) to the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, and a member of the Election Committee of the Fourth Chief Executive of the MSAR. Mr. Leong was also a deputy to the 11th and 12th NPC; a member of the Council for the Election of the Deputies of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) to the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12 th NPC; a member of the China, Asia Pacific Group of the Trilateral Commission; a member of the Selection Committee of the first MSAR Government; a member of the Election Committee of the Second and Third Chief Executive of the MSAR; a member of the Executive Council of the MSAR; a member of the Assembly of the Macau University; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Macao Foundation; Vice-Chairman of the Macao Advisory Council on the Environment; a member of the evaluation committee of the Macao Science and Technology Awards; President of the Advisory Board of the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Macao Cultural Industries Fund; President of the Macau Development Strategy Research Centre; Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Macau Economic Association; a member of the Standing Committee of Directors of the Macao Chamber of Commerce; Vice-President of the Industrial Association of Macau; Vice-President of the Macau Importers and Exporters Association; President of the Board of Directors of the Charity Fund From the Readers of the Macao Daily News; Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association, etc. Mr. Leong was the recipient of the first Medal of Merit – Industry and Commerce awarded by the Macao SAR Government.
