Born in 1954 in Neufahrn near Freising, Germany, Dr. Staudigl completed his PhD in metal-organic chemistry at Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilian University in 1981. Then, he received a post-doctoral-fellowship and carried on with his post-doctoral research at Harvard University in the USA for one year. In 1982, he became Assistant Professor of inorganic chemistry at Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich. Dr. Staudigl joined Wacker Siltronic AG in Burghausen, Germany in 1983. In 1989, he was relocated to Wacker Siltronic Corporation in Portland, Oregon, USA and acted as Vice President Operations to supervise the production of Portland Site. The next year, he was assigned as President and CEO of Wacker Siltronic Corporation, responsible for Siltronic’s overall business in USA. In 1993, Dr. Staudigl returned to Burghausen as the Member of the Executive Board at Wacker Siltronic AG. From 1995 to 2008, Dr. Staudigl served as the Member of the Executive Board of WACKER Group headquartered in Munich, Germany. During this period, as the Member of the Executive Board in charge of Asia and silicone business, he was responsible for WACKER’s silicone investment project in Zhangjiagang in China. Since May 2008, Dr. Staudigl took office as President & CEO of the Executive Board of Wacker Chemie AG. Dr. Staudigl ever served as the Board & Executive Committee Member of Cefic (The European Chemical Industry Council), chairing research and innovation. In 2017, Dr. Staudigl leaded Business 20 (B20) Cross-thematic Group Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs), on behalf of Group providing recommendations on facilitating SMEs’ growth through access to cross border business, facilitating SMEs’ access to the digital economy and ensuring the implementation of the G20 plans on financing of SMEs. Dr. Staudigl is an Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Munich.
