Chairman of Technology Steering Committee, Alibaba Group

Dr. Wang Jian joined Alibaba Group as Chief Architect in September 2008. He is responsible for the formulation and implementation of Alibaba Group’s technology development strategy. As the founder of Alibaba Cloud and YunOS Operation System, he also served as the President of Alibaba Cloud Computing since its inception in September 2009 until September 2013. Dr. Wang served as Chief Technology Officer of Alibaba Group from September 2012, and was appointed as Chairman of Steering Committee of Alibaba Group since May 2015. Before joining Alibaba Group, Dr. Wang served as Assistant Managing Director at Microsoft Research Asia, where he worked since 1999. Prior to this, he worked at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China as a professor and head of the psychology department.
