Han Changfu, born in October 1954, is a male ethnic Han from Binxian, Heilongjiang Province. His career began at July 1976 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1974. He graduated from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University with a major in Marxist theory and ideological and political education and holds the degree of Doctor of Laws. He is currently Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, P.R. China, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, P.R. China, Deputy Head of Central Rural Work Leading Group and Director of the Office of Central Rural Work Leading Group. Minister Han was previously the Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Minister of Agriculture after having served as the Deputy Secretary of Jilin Provincial Committee of CPC and Governor of Jilin Province. Prior to that, he had served as Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the Research Office of the State Council and Deputy Director of the Research Office of the State Council, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of Ministry of Agriculture and Vice Minister of Agriculture, Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs, Director General of the Department of Rural Youth Affairs and Director General of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and a member of its Standing Committee.
