In 1993, Zhang Dazhong established Shanghai Cable TV Sports channel, which was the first professional sports channel in Chinese TV. He is the former general manager of Shanghai male and female volleyball club, responsible for the management of Shanghai Sharks Basketball Club which YaoMing belongs to. Mr. Zhang is one of the earliest pioneers in the field of sport industry in China. In 2006, Zhang Dazhong is appointed as the vice President of Shanghai Media Group, chairman of the board of the very first home-shopping TV channel. He also founded IPTV, BesTV, which make him known as the leader of Chinese New Media and TV broadcasting. In July of 2015, Zhang Dazhong resigned from SMG, therefore, he founded Alisports under the support of Jack Ma and Daniel Zhang, who are the executive chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group respectively. In the same year September, Alisports was founded in Shanghai and Zhang Dazhong started his new journey as the CEO of Alisports.
