Senior Vice President, NetEase CEO, NetEase Youdao

Dr. Zhou Feng currently serves as the Senior Vice President of NetEase and the CEO of NetEase Youdao. A native of Yixing, Jiangsu Province. Dr.Zhou Feng earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science respectively in 2000 and 2002 at Tsinghua University and received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley in 2007. As someone who personally witnessed the first wave of the Internet taking off in China, he had committed himself to developing Internet projects for tech companies and assisted NetEase in tackling many difficult technical problems with its mail and game modules, two of the most important offerings of the tech giant, while pursuing his studies at Tsinghua University. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, with an aspiration to contribute his talents to the betterment of China, he joined NetEase, where he independently acted as the chief product owner of Youdao search engine. During the period, Dr. Zhou Feng presided over an array of development projects, including Youdao Dictionary, the architecture of Youdao Search platform, and Youdao Cloud Note. On his watch, both Youdao Dictionary and Youdao Note rose to become “hero apps” which have long championed the shares of the market among sub-category offerings. In 2014, Dr. Zhou orchestrated NetEase Youdao’s entry into online education through launching an entirely new online education product – Youdao Course, which has spawned the company’s blockbuster product centering on College English Tests (band 4&6) in just two years. As of now, NetEase Youdao has grown to become the largest Internet-based education brand serving 800 million Internet users throughout China, with a broad range of highly-rated learning tools and online learning offerings for mass education.
