Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum

 

Viktor Zubkov was born on September 15, 1941 in Sverdlovsk Oblast. He graduated from the Economic Department of the Leningrad Agriculture Institute and holds a Ph.D. in Economics. He headed a number of enterprises and various departments of local authorities in Leningrad Oblast and Saint Petersburg.

1999–2001:  Deputy Minister for Taxes and Levies of the Russian Federation – Head of the Saint Petersburg Department of the Ministry for Taxes and Levies of the Russian Federation

2001–2004:  First Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation

2004–2007:  Head of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation

2007–2008:  Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

2008–2012:  First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

Since 2008:  Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom

Since 2012:  Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum

Zubkov has many state honours and awards. He is married and has a daughter.
