Host, Talk with World Leaders, Phoenix TV
Ms. Fu Xiaotian joined Phoenix TV in 2009. She was initially based in London as chief correspondent and bureau chief. Her job then was to produce everyday news, present personal comments on live broadcast programs, and direct documentaries on quarterly basis. In 2011 Ms. Fu journeyed twice to Libya as a wartime reporter; during which, her courage and interview skills displayed were highly acknowledged. She was promoted in 2012, and transferred back to the headquarters of Phoenix TV in Hong Kong. As a senior reporter, she travelled often in the following years to different countries to cover major political news events, such as presidential elections and international summits. She took over the flagship program Talk With World Leaders in 2014. This is a one on one interview program with world political leaders. In 2015, she conducted 50 interviews with guests from more than 30 countries including former US State Secretary Henry Kissinger (Beijing), US State Secretary John Kerry (Beijing), former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown (London), Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi (Beijing), and Syrian President Basharal-Assad (Damascus). Ms. Fu Xiaotian graduated from Churchill College, the University of Cambridge with an MPhil degree. She had previously studied English literature and Economics at Beijing Language and Culture University and Peking University for double bachelor degrees. She now lives in Hong Kong and Beijing. She loves travel, history and ancient literatures.
