Sergey Katyrin was born in Moscow on October 2, 1954. He graduated from the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction Institute and the International Business School of MGIMO University. S. Katyrin was elected as the President of the CCI of the Russia in March 2011. An important area of the activity of S. Katyrin in the capacity of the President is the coordination of the Russian system of chambers, which incorporates territorial CCI, associations and business unions, and the promotion of interaction with legislative and executive authorities of the country and regions. S. Katyrin represents the CCI of Russia at large public business unions and is a member of their ruling bodies. He is a member of the Commission for the Development of SME under the Russian Government, the Public Council for the Development of SME under the Chairman of the Russian Federal Assembly. He is engaged into the Chamber’s international activities, being co-chair of the National Part in the BRICS Business Council, chairman of the National Part in the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Business Council as well as a member of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Council of the Heads of CCIs and Russia’s Representative in the Boao Forum for Asia.
