Dr. SHEN is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Chief Scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program). Dr. SHEN received his Ph.D. Degree from Dalian University of Technology in 1990, and started his career in Zhengzhou Industrial University in the same year. He was entitled as an experts who can enjoy the state council special allowances in 1993, honored as “National Middle-aged and Young Expert making Outstanding Contribution” in 1994, entitled as Ph.D. Supervisor and selected into the first list of Talents Project of China in 1996. Dr. SHEN was appointed as the Vice President of Zhengzhou Industrial University in Feb. 1997, Standing Vice President of Zhengzhou University in Jul. 2000, the President of Zhengzhou University in Feb. 2003. Dr. SHEN was elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009 and appointed as the President of Dalian University of Technology in Aug. 2012. Since Dec. 2013, Dr. SHEN was appointed as the Commissioner of SIPO.
