Columnist, The Wall Street Journal
Andrew Browne is a Senior Correspondent and Columnist with The Wall Street Journal in China. In this role, he writes about the Chinese economy as well as political, military and social issues. Andrew has spent the past 35 years working as a journalist in Asia. His career began in 1980 at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. He moved from there to Reuters News Agency where he spent 20 years running news bureaus around the region before becoming Asia News Editor based in Singapore. At the Journal, Andrew was a member of a team of reporters that won the Pulitzer Prize. He also shared an Overseas Press Club award for stories on the Chinese economy. Before taking up his role as a columnist, he was the Journal's China Editor, responsible for both English and Chinese news production. He lives in Shanghai and is married with two grown children.
