Prof. Desbarats is the co-founder and chairman of The Alloy—a design company established to improve and advance best practice in experience-led design. Prof. Desbarats’ broad innovation knowledge base extends across industrial-design & engineering for both consultancy & manufacturing, in applications ranging from phones & cars to airport check-in desks. His longstanding career goals are to use his multidisciplinary background to help organizations achieve better connections between technology and people. His renowned clients include global brands such as BT, HP, Marconi, Grass Valley, Toshiba and Samsung etc.

Prof. Desbarats is a fellow of British Royal Society of Arts (RSA), and a fellow of Chartered Society of Designer (CSD). He is also the president of British Design Innovation. Prof. Desbarats is a frequent speaker on the topics of user experience, brand expression through product, global innovation collaboration and the impact of IT on design management. Prof. Desbarats has also directed hundreds of design projects leading to many milliover 50 million mass-produced items, with recognised commercial and critical success.
