Prof. Dr. Hans Georg Engel joined the Mercedes-Benz AG in 1995. He started in the department for brake and chassis in RD and became Director of brake control and driver assistance systems development after eight years. Another three years later for chassis and chassis systems development. As the chief engineer and program director of Mercedes Benz Cars he owned various cooperative projects in segments.

In 2015 he joined Daimler Greater China as Senior Executive Vice President, becoming Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Research & Development, Program Management, and Procurement & Supplier Quality China in Beijing. Since 15 years, he is also having a lectureship at the Technischen Univerisaet Kaiserslautern.
