Chairman of the Executive Board of Management of TÜV Rheinland AG
Dr. Michael Fübi has been the Chairman of the Executive Board of Management of TÜV Rheinland AG since 2015. He was born in Düsseldorf in 1967 and holds a doctorate in engineering. He initially studied mechanical engineering at Universität Dortmund as well as at Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen, and after obtaining a Diplom degree in 1992, went on to successfully complete a postgraduate Diplom program in business studies in Aachen. In 1995, he obtained his doctorate in engineering (Dr.-Ing) at Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen. Dr. Michael Fübi began his professional career in 1995 at Babcock Borsig. In 1998, he became the spokesman for the Executive Board of the WABAG Group within the corporate group, and subsequently held leadership roles at Babcock Borsig. In 2002, Dr. Fübi transferred to the RWE Group, where, among other things, he led the Climate Protection division for RWE Power before being appointed to RWE Technology's Executive Board in 2010. Dr. Fübi was initially the Chief Technical Officer on the Executive Board, and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2012. Until December 2014 Dr. Fübi was Chairman of the Board of Directors at European technical association for power and heat generation VGB PowerTech. The organization is headquartered in Essen and represents nearly 500 operators, producers and additional institutions associated with power and heat generation from 35 countries around the world.
