Mr. Niklas Gustafsson was born in 1971, Bachelor of Science and majored in electronics. He has many years of automotive industry experience. After joining the Volvo Group, he focused on the Volvo Group's public affairs, environmental and sustainability issues, and is responsible for several environmentally friendly automotive research projects.

From 2008 to 2013, Niklas served as Senior Vice President of Environment and Public Affairs of the Volvo Group. Since April 2013, he has been the Executive Vice President of the Volvo Group and joined the Group Executive Team.

Since January 2015, he has been appointed as the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Volvo Group and has overall responsibility for external communications in the areas of public affairs and sustainability. Niklas is also responsible for the Group Representation Offices in the European Union, China, France, the United States, and India.

Niklas is the Board member in International Transport Forum (CPB), and Tsinghua University Green Development and Sustainable Development Research Center. He is also the Board member of Tongji University Board of Trustees, Shanghai China.
