Chairman, Euroclear Bank

Frederic Hannequart is an Executive Director and member of the Euroclear group Management Committee. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euroclear Bank and Euroclear UK & Ireland. Frederic has overall responsibility for client commercial and business development within the Euroclear group. He is also Board member of Swift.

Previously, Frederic was Chief Financial Officer of both Euroclear Bank and Euroclear SA/NV. Earlier in his career, he headed up Euroclear Bank’s Treasury and Collateral Services division.

Prior to joining Euroclear in 1998, Frederic was Vice President of Bank Brussels Lambert (BBL) in Belgium responsible for marketing the bank’s retail and private banking products. During his 12 years with BBL, Frederic also held senior positions in the bank’s offices in Singapore and Australia. Frederic holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), a Master’s degree in Economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), and an MBA from Cornell University (USA).
