Dr. Alwyn Didar Singh, Secretary General of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) is a former Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (Diaspora and Migration Ministry). He also functioned as Chairman of ICM (Indian Council for Migration) as also Chairman of OIFC (Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre). Dr. Didar Singh is also a Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Migration (2011-2013). Dr. Didar Singh has earlier held senior positions in the Central Ministries of. Road Transport and Highways, Commerce (International Trade) and Heavy Industries and before that as Secretary and CEO in the State Governments of Punjab and Meghalaya. Dr. Singh is a strategy expert who has worked with several international agencies, including International Trade Centre; UNCTAD; World Health Organization; ILO; South Centre, Geneva and the Commonwealth Secretariat, London. Dr. Didar Singh did his Masters in Development Administration from Birmingham University, UK and has a Ph.D. in the policy and administration of Electronic Commerce. He has several publications including three books to his credit in the areas of e-Commerce, e-Government and Migration.
