Chairman of the Administrative Office of the Thai Buddhist Missionaries Overseas
Ven.Phraprommasith, born in February 16, 1956, is the Chairman of the Administrative Office of the Thai Buddhist Missionaries Overseas, the successor to His Holiness Somdej Phra Buddhachariya. He supervises all Thai Buddhist monks serving abroad in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. He also represents the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand in all international monastic affairs. In Thailand, he serves on the Supreme Sangha Council, the central governing body of the Thai Sangha. Additionally, he serves as Head of the Tenth Ecclesiastical Region, responsible for all monastic affairs in six provinces in Eastern Thailand. The Most Venerable Phra Prommasith is the abbot of Wat Srakesa where the Golden Mountain is located. The sacred relics of the Buddha is kept on top of the Golden Mountain.
