Senior Vice President and General Manager of the New Technology Group, Intel Corporation

Joshua (Josh) M.Walden is senior vice president and general manager of the New Technology Group at Intel Corporation. Walden oversees Intel’s global research efforts in computing and communications. Additionally, he leads teams creating and deploying new technology categories such as interactive computing devices, perceptual computing and wearable devices.

Before assuming his current position, Walden worked in a variety of strategic and operational roles at Intel. Most notably, he served as vice president and general manager of Intel’s Platform Engineering Group, where he led worldwide engineering teams that were responsible for the development, manufacturing and validation of Intel’s chip portfolio. He also previously led Intel’s Fab/Sort Manufacturing organization, where he was responsible for the company’s global wafer manufacturing operations.

Walden joined Intel in 1983 as a process engineer in Santa Clara, California, and has held numerous roles in wafer manufacturing and technology development throughout his career, including overseeing the startup and initial high-volume manufacturing of Intel’s first international 300mm wafer fabrication facility in Ireland.

Walden earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida.
