Bofan WU is now a professor at the Research Institute for Internet and Cheung Kong School of Journalism and Communication, Shantou University. He is also the host of the famous finance talk show Dong Wu Relativity broadcast by China National Radio and a commentator for CCTV2 Business Channel. He serves as an independent director of Guangdong-based Tiandi No.1 Beverage Inc. and the chairman of the supervisory board of Beijing New Water Source Technology Co., Ltd. He also runs his own WeChat and Sina Weibo accounts “bofanstime” and hosts a subscription-based talk show on De Dao (meaning “get” in English), an app operated by Luogic Show. Wu received his bachelor’s degree from the School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China in 1987 and his master’s degree from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1990. He worked at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from 1991 to 2000 before he transferred to the world of media in 2001, where he worked successively as Chief Planner of Global Entrepreneur magazine, Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese-version of U.S.-based Inc. magazine and Editor-in-Chief of The Founder magazine. From September 2004 to April 2016, he successively held the roles of Editorial Committee member, Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher at 21st Century Business Review, a monthly magazine. Wu is one of the core members of the “Digital Forum”, an informal organization founded in 1998 that is committed to promoting Internet-based ideas and culture in China. He is the author of the book Lonely Carnival – Communication in the Digital Age. Wu is a key opinion leader in the field of information and communications technology (ICT), who has been following frontier and hot ICT issues since 1997. He was the very first person to introduce the concept of “corporate citizenship” into China’s business and media communities. To elaborate on the concept, he wrote the book Corporate Citizenship: from Responsibility to Ability and Innovation like Bees – Business Ecosystem in the Era of Corporate Citizenship. As a scholar and key opinion leader promoting new business models in China, he also wrote the book Winning Business Models: Innovation and Competition in the 21st Century.
