Mr. Jeong Joon Yu is currently President of SK E&S and President of SK Group’s Global Growth Committee. SK E&S is a subsidiary of the SK Group and is a comprehensive energy service provider with the vision of becoming a Global Gas & Power Company. At SK E&S, Mr. Yu is responsible for leading and directing business divisions in LNG, gas distribution, power generation, and district heating & cooling development. SK Group is the third largest conglomerate in Korea and is composed of the nation’s largest oil refiner SK Innovation (formerly SK Energy), the largest mobile telecom operator SK Telecom, and other business affiliates.

Mr. Yu began his career as a Senior Accountant at the New York office of Deloitte & Touche in 1987, and later joined McKinsey & Co. to establish and found its Seoul office in 1991. As a business strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co., Mr. Yu successfully advised global businesses and institutions on issues and projects related to taxation auditing, international trading, and various facets of management such as vision and strategy planning.  In 1996, Mr. Yu joined LG Corporation, where he took over a corporate planning and overseas business development role..

Upon joining SK Energy as Head of New Business Development in 1998, Mr. Yu accomplished pivotal achievements in intangible-based new business development, venture capital, B2B internet and life science businesses. A year later, he was appointed as CFO & Head of Corporate Planning of SK Energy, where he was responsible for finance, accounting, planning, budgeting, HR, PR, IT and SK Energy’s China business. In 2008, he became President of SK Energy’s Resources & Chemicals Business, not only leading exploration & production, international trading & supply, power & LNG, coal, chemical businesses, but developing new overseas ventures as well. During his capacity as President of SK Energy’s Resources & Chemicals Business, Mr. Yu concurrently served as CEO of SK Lubricants, a subsidiary of SK Energy, when it was established on October 2009. Prior to joining SK Holdings in 2011, he served as President of SK Energy’s Refining & Marketing Business. There he led the whole value chain of SK Energy’s refining business including production, marketing, international trading & supply, asphalt, as well as the development of SK Energy’s global businesses. Before being appointed as President of SK E&S in 2013, Mr. Yu was the President of SK Holdings where he directed the growth and global businesses, including M&A activities, of the whole SK Group. 

Mr. Yu holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Korea University and a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
