Mark Zhang majored in machine and power engineering and got master degree in SJTU. In 2009, he established ele.me with his friends in school and has worked as the CEO of the company till now.

During the 7 years, the amount of employees in ele.me has achieved great increase- from several to 15,000. At present, its online food delivery service has covered more than 1,000 cities, and its daily GMV has been over 200 million RMB. With tremendous performance, so far, ele.me has got investment of 2.34 billion RMB totally.

Beside work, Mark is also active in society activities. He donated 5 million RMB to start an entrepreneur fund in SJTU on behalf of ele.me, and establish the Lu Boxun Food Safety Research Center in the university. This summer, he donated material of 3.4 million RMB to help the reconstruction in Wuhan after the flood as well.

In November of 2015, Mark was chosen as one of the Ten IT Youth of Shanghai. In January of 2016, he was also awarded the Prize of Sina Economy Person of the Year.
