Sergey Katyrin was born in Moscow on October 2, 1954. He graduated from the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction Institute and the International Business School of MGIMO University. S. Katyrin was elected as the President of the CCI of the Russia in March 2011. An important area of the activity of S. Katyrin in the capacity of the President is the coordination of the Russian system of chambers, which incorporates territorial CCI, associations and business unions, and the promotion of interaction with legislative and executive authorities of the country and regions. S. Katyrin represents the CCI of Russia at large public business unions and is a member of their ruling bodies. He is a member of the Commission for the Development of SME under the Russian Government, the Public Council for the Development of SME under the Chairman of the Russian Federal Assembly. He is the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation and a member of the Council of Heads of CCI of CIS Member States.
