Eddie Chiu leads Deloitte China's enterprise risk services client advisory practice - one of the fastest growing group of services for Deloitte China. He is a member of the Firm's national executive team. Such is the pace of economic and technological development in China, that enterprises are constantly facing evolving and unprecedented challenges to performance management and enhancement, and the necessary corporate governance and enterprise risk management that underpin these. Deloitte's enterprise risk services practice has been at the forefront in China and globally in the provision of advisory and implementation services in these critical areas. Eddie is one of the professional services industry pioneers in helping China's regulators and state-owned enterprises with these pre-requisites to transformation and globalization. Eddie has led projects for many of China's largest SOEs across a spectrum of key industry sectors such as energy & resources, telecommunications, real estate and infrastructure. He provides consultation to government such as the Ministry of Finance and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, to assist policy formation and implementation, and serves as an expert panel member of the Ministry of Finance’s Internal Control Standard Committee. Eddie also frequently shares his experience and insights as a speaker on these topics at major conferences such as those hosted by China Enterprise Confederation, China Info 100 and leading accounting professional organizations. Joining Deloitte as an intern in 1992, Eddie's career over the past 20 years has included working in the offices and diverse marketplaces of Taipei, Hong Kong, London and Beijing. He was admitted to the Deloitte China partnership in 2005. In addition to his leadership of Deloitte China's enterprise risk services practice, Eddie also plays a role in the overall management of Deloitte China, as a member of the Partnership Admission Advisory Committee which evaluates new partner candidates, as well as being elected by the Firm’s partners to the CEO Selection Committee. Eddie is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong and a Chartered Accountant in the UK.
