Karishma Vaswani is the Asia Business Correspondent of BBC World News, based in Singapore. She was most recently the Indonesia Editor for the BBC World Service in Jakarta and prior to this held the position of the BBC’s Indonesia correspondent from 2009 to 2014. During the span of her BBC career, Karishma has interviewed notable figures like Indonesia President Joko Widodo, Indian Central Bank Chief Raghuram Rajan, Former Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the late Sing2aporean Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. Prior to taking up her posting in Jakarta, Karishma was the first presenter of India Business Report, BBC World News’ business programme dedicated to examining the issues of trade, business and economics in India.
