Mr. Wang Yupu is Chairman of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group)and Chairman of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp.). He is also a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Mr. Wang graduated from China’s Daqing Petroleum Institute in 1982, and received a doctoral degree in oil and gas field development from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2003. He assumed various responsibilities including Chief Engineer at the Oil and Gas Development Department of Daqing Petroleum Administration, Deputy Chief Engineer, President and Chairman of Daqing Oilfield Co., Ltd. Later on, Mr. Wang was appointed Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Vice Chairman of All China Federation of Trade Unions, and Vice President (ministerial level) of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also Alternate Member of the Seventeenth CPC Central Committee and Member of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committee.
